Screen Readers JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver
- Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software

- Content order works as expected using down arrow key
- Each interactive element has role, name (according to the site’s main language) and state
- Visually hidden content is not read by a screen reader
- Any information that appears dynamically on the screen is conveyed to the user. (e.g. “Thank you” message after submitting the form)
- Meaningful images have an appropriate alt text in the site’s language
- Decorative images have an empty alt text (so screen readers would ignore them).
- Check the contrast between each text element and its background

This site uses a bespoke custom WordPress theme developed at Huxley Digital with accessibility ‘baked in to it’. This includes correct coding standards of html semantics used to build each custom component.
Our process of testing was based on ensuring content of each page build was tested thoroughly.
- Completing testing for The W3C Markup Validation Service to mitigate bugs and ensure the code of this site is of the highest quality
- This site has completed browser testing on all major browsers for the latest 2 versions of each browser: Mozilla Firefox, I.E. Edge, Chrome, Safari and Opera
- This site has completed WAVE testing
- This site scores 100% for accessibility in our lighthouse report for mobile and desktop.
We believe this website is compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.
We are aware that some of the PDF documents contained in the ‘Transparency’ section of this website do not currently meet the required accessibility standards. The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
