What's your plastic solution?
Raising awareness of the direct link between plastic waste and carbon emissions.
Campaign detailsThe South London Waste Partnership is made up of four councils (Croydon, Kingston, Merton and Sutton) who are working together to provide improved and more cost-effective waste management services to their residents.
Our Partnership95% of the waste we handle is recycled, composted or sent for energy recovery. Less than 5% ends up in landfill.
41% is the average recycling rate across the four SLWP boroughs - above the London average of 33% but below the national average of 44%.
99.6% of all the waste and recycling we handle is treated at facilities within the UK (2023/24)
There's been a 12% reduction in non-recyclable waste produced by SLWP boroughs over the last eight years.
Our goal is to create a carbon-neutral waste management system where waste materials are treated as a valuable resource.
Raising awareness of the direct link between plastic waste and carbon emissions.

🚮 Full bin? Take it home!
🗑️Leaving rubbish on or next to public bins is still littering (and can be classed as fly-tipping!)
It makes our streets look untidy and attracts unwanted pests🐀
If you see a bin that’s full, please take your litter home or find another one nearby.

Batteries are the leading cause of fires in bins. If you have old batteries to get rid of, stop and think because you could be putting real people in danger. Recycle them safely at Villiers Road HRRC or visit http://recyclenow.com/recycling-locator to find a nearby recycling point.#SaferKingston
