RECYCLE AT HOME = NO
Glass cookware (e.g. ‘Pyrex’) cannot be recycled using your council’s collection service. Not all types of glass melt at the same temperature. Pyrex and drinking glasses for example, melt at a higher temperature than bottles and jars, so if they enter the glass recycling process, they cause problems with the recycling.
Broken glass cookware should be wrapped carefully in a bag and placed in your rubbish bin.
RECYCLE OUT OF HOME = NO
Glass cookware cannot be recycled at local collection points or at you your council-run Household Reuse and Recycling Centre – wrap it carefully and put it in your rubbish bin.
WASTE LESS…
- Glass cookware that is in good condition can be donated to your local charity shop – find your local charity shops on the Charity Retail Association website – or given away via the Freegle or Freecycle websites
