- Hairdryers, straighteners, curling tongs, electric toothbrushes and shavers
- Garden tools such as lawn mowers, hedge trimmers and leaf blowers
- Lamps, torches, vacuum cleaners, phones, TVs, printers, cameras and smoke alarms
- Computers, PCs, Macs and laptops
- E-cigarettes and vapes
Be a great recycler…
- Never put small electrical items in the rubbish bin – they can cause fires
- The batteries and battery packs within small electrical items are classed as hazardous waste and must be kept separate from general waste
Waste less…
- Donate small electrical items that are in good working condition to charities or charity shops – find your local charity shops on the Charity Retail Association website
- Donate electrical items to the Community Reuse Shop (find a drop-off point at your council-run Household Reuse and Recycling Centre)
- If your electrical item is not working, try repairing it – find a local repair shop or see if there are any repair cafes in your area where you can learn new skills
