Recycle at home = No
DIY waste cannot be recycled using your council’s recycling collection service.
Do not put any DIY waste in your rubbish bin. This includes:
- Bricks
- Building rubble
- Cement
- Ceramic bathroom suites
- Clay
- Concrete blocks
- Gravel
- Hardcore
- Paving slabs
- Plasterboard
- Rubble
- Sand
- Soil
- Slate
- Stone
- Tiles
- Wood
If you arrange for a private waste contractor to collect your DIY waste, then remember; it’s your responsibility to check they have a Waste Carriers Licence. If an un-licensed waste carrier fly-tips your waste, it’s you that can be held responsible.
Recycle out of home = Yes
DIY waste and rubble can be taken to your council-run Household Reuse and Recycling Centre where it will be recycled. Limits on how much you can take may apply and you might charged a small fee – check your council’s website for details.
