Beddington Farmlands Open Day: 20 June 2019

10 June 2019

Local residents have the opportunity to get to know the Beddington Farmlands a little better this month by joining a guided tour on Thursday 20 June 2019.

The site’s operator, Viridor, is holding the latest in a series of Open Days to give members of the local community an opportunity to see for themselves the diverse wildlife that can be found on the 120-hectare site.

Visitors will also be able to witness the progress being made to restore the area from a landfill site into high quality nature conservation habitats including wet grassland and meadowland.  These habitats will support wildlife species including lapwing and skylark, breeding wildfowl and duck populations.

The open day provides an ideal opportunity to safely visit the site while this restoration work is underway, ahead of the community being provided with access in the future.

Attendance on the Beddington Farmlands open day will be by registration only.  There will be guided tours departing at 10am and 1pm.  For more information or to book your place please email: [email protected]

For more information on the restoration work taking place at the Beddington Farmlands site, please see the Restoration Roadmap.

Ends.
